About us

Wildings Camp became a pop up in 2021.

I run the site on my own after decommissioning 'Gloria' as a festival shop during Covid and looking for another use for her. I went to buy one tent and ended it with 3 and suddenly  I was running a campsite and here we are!

The concept of having your own private site in such a beautiful location with almost no impact on the environment was such a success that I have been encouraged to repeat the project ongoing.

My 2 teenage daughters are my right hand men, it's very much a family affair with a lot of love in it.

Information

The Pool:

The pool belongs to the main house and is rented out as a swim school. I am renting it on your behalf as and when you book sessions. Access is very strictly monitored and only available as and when you book it I endeavour to be as gentle on the environment there as possible.

I have a stringent "leave no trace" motto. Therefore to ensure no nasty chemicals are going into the ground I will provide locally made 100% natural cleaning and showering products for your use whilst on site. (Not necessary for the pool)

Among other things the bedding is organic approved and I'm using an ethical green insurance company and totally green cleaning products and washing powders.

A fire pit is provided and a basket of local sourced logs on arrival will be free and more can be ordered for £9 per load. These will need to be ordered in advance. There are 2 BBQs. One gas for meat, one for vegetarian.

I can arrange for a company called Leaf and Ladle to deliver to site pre ordered vegan/vegetarian meals made with entirely organic ingredients, all the vegetables being grown themselves at Hankham Organics. Hearty happy nutritional meals that are feast for the eyes and incredibly good for you. Food is delivered in cardboard food boxes and trays, an array of salads and dips, one main dish ie a curry or tagine that can be heated up on the fire and served in the pots provided. No cooking or washing up necessary. A wonderfully nourishing add on.

I also have 2 inflatable paddle boards for use on the nearby river or down at the sea, that I can rent out for £20 per board per booking. [To be used at your own risk)

Rules

Rubbish:

There are bins behind Gloria: 2/3 smaller for recycling and one wheelie bin for normal waste. Please recycle fastidiously. Please be mindful that I will be sorting through any rubbish left to check and recycle. Separating meat scraps and nappies and plastic or glass bottles for example is never a highlight. Noise In order to guarantee the continuation of the camp, noise is a very important issue. Please be mindful of the following guidelines:

Noise Curfew:

Starting from 11:00 PM, we have a noise curfew in place. During this time, please keep noise levels to an absolute minimum 2. Vehicle Movement: Whenever possible, please keep vehicle movement within the camp to a minimum, especially during quiet hours. Parking You are welcome to drive your car down onto the site on the path behind the tents and unload but please move your car immediately afterwards to the designated parking area by the pond.

Dogs at Wildlings Camp:

We understand that your furry friends are a part of your family, and we're delighted to welcome well-behaved dogs to our glamping site.

Supervision:

Dogs must be supervised at all times while on the premises. As we are nestled amidst abundant wildlife, it's essential to keep a close eye on your pets to prevent any disturbances. 2. Unattended Dogs: For the safety and comfort of all guests, please do not leave your dogs unattended in any of the accommodations. We want to ensure a stress-free environment for both you and your four-legged companions. 3. Pool Usage: If you plan to use the pool, we kindly request that you leave your dog outside the pool area and properly tied up. 4. Cleanliness: As responsible pet owners, please clean up after your dogs. We provide designated areas for waste disposal. Additionally, we ask that you refrain from allowing your dogs onto the beds, as some guests may have allergies to pet hair.

Damage:

To align with our eco-ethical values, many of the materials used in our accommodations have been rescued, sourced second-hand, or recycled. These items may not be new but they have real value and I strive to maximise their use through repairing and reusing. Accidents happen, and if something like a chair gets broken or a sheet gets ripped, there's no need to fret. I will do my best to repair and repurpose these items. It's not a significant concern, so please don't worry. However, I ask that you inform me if any damage occurs during your stay, (simply text me directly). This allows ample time to replace or repair the item before the arrival of the next guests arrive. In the event that damages are not reported, I will have to charge you the full price for the replacement item. My aim is to maintain the highest standards and provide a good experience for all guests. Promptly notifying me of any damages is greatly appreciated. Damage to items key to the Camps Infrastructure Maintaining key elements within Wildlings Camp such as tents, solar lights, shower units, awnings, water pumps, and other essential components is not only challenging but is also costly to replace. I have taken great care to provide clear and detailed instructions in this manual on how to use equipment properly. Familiarising yourself with this manual and the equipment will reduce the risk of accidental damage. However, should any unfortunate incidents occur, resulting in the need for replacement or repair, I require the associated costs be reimbursed.
